Hey,

While my car was running the other day i noticed that it was noisey when ticking over, and it sounds like its coming from the right hand side of the car. So i sprayed abit of WD-40 onto the aux belt and noise started to go and then went quite, got the auxrillary belt replaced but the noise is still there??

Any ideas what it could be??

Cheers Ash

could be the aux belt tensioner pulley.. I had mine in bits whilst fixing an oil leak on the crank seal. Three bolts hold it on the car then 1 torx bolt holds the pulley on. My was covered in dust and crap mainly off the belt as they wear away. Good clean up and some grease has cured the problem for now. I've been quoted £56 + vat for a new tensioner as mine is causing the belt to twist slightly as the internal spring seams to be going weak in its old age. 135k asuming its the original its not done bad.

I wouldnt spray too much wd40 on the belt as it will slip causing the informous sqweal.
