ESP Switch

hi everyone, just joined this forum so im totally new to all of this! I test drove a y reg s3 and im considering buying it, the only concern is that when i got back to the garage i was pressing buttons to see what worked and what didnt, i pressed the ESP switch and there was no indication whether it was on or off?? no symbol come up by my dials or anywhere, usually i'd have expected to see a triangle with skidmarks in it but nothing?? should there be a symbol, if so where and if it is faulty how much would it cost to be repaired?

yes there is an icon in the dials that comes up check to see if it comes on when you first turn the ignition on if not i bet there is a fault with the esp and they have taken the bulb out!
