Just wondering if anybody knows how often these oils have to be changed. The cars just done 60,000 miles and not sure if any of them have been changed before.

They are supposed to be sealed for life, but they are both changeable. 75/90 is recomended for both around 4 littres iirc. So probably cheaper to buy a 5 litre container. However i would change it to full synth and add some shockproof oil into the mix. It can help a lot with fast changes and hard launches etc

Cheers hey. Is there specialised tools needed if i did decide to change it?

I want to change my gearbox oil, hopefuly to take a bit of clunk out of gear changes. What brand of oil would you recomend?

You need a VAG gearbox sumpplug tool to change the gearbox oil. IVe recently switched to Motul Gear 300 and its made a big difference to the gear change feels so much better and no crunch from second to third since the change.

how many litres will i need for just the gearbox change?

2.6 litres to do the gearbox and transfer box which is attached to the gearbox iirc, so you'll need to buy 3 1 litre bottles.

Transfer box, is that for the rear diff?

The Xfer box is directly connected to the gearbox and is lubricated by the same oil. The rear diff is at the rear of the car and although connected to the Haldex, is lubed seperatley

Ok i get you, so both have tobe changed seperately, how hard is it todo the rear diff?
