Fly wheel?

Hi All,

Am I correct in thinking that if I get a knocking noise from the front of the engine when in neutral and that dissapears when I press in the clutch I have a wobbly/duff fly wheel

And apart form being annoying and sounding like my car is knackered would there be any more damage done running it like that untill I can afford to replace it? And if I do need to replace it what one should I go for.

Not necessarily the flywheel - could be a bearing in the gearbox.

Sounds like Flywheel to me as it goes when you press the clutch.

Mine was stood for about 6 weeks and started to do it, now i'm using it daily, its gone (touch wood!)

I had these symptoms - it was indeed my flywheel.

I'd just leave it unless it gets very annoying or your clutch wears out. Mine was totally ******** last year when I went for a single mass flywheel and uprated clutch.

The only problem I have now is that the new ****** clutch sticks on occasion which can be fun!
