Our S3 went into RK Engineering today for an oil&filter and a new thermostat. This has fixed the dodgy temperature reading we'd been getting since getting the car a couple of weeks back.

Simon did the work and took it for a quick test drive after checking for fault codes (none found) :D

We had planned a remap at some point but Si told us the bad news when he got back.

"The car won't be any quicker after a remap" :(

That was the bad news.

The good news was, the car already has a remap :eyebrows:

So, thats saved us around £300+ to spend on improved handling which will probably go on suspension as we found 2 broken rear Eibachs while we were there lol.

So, all in all a good day.

Also, a mate of ours has just recently got a similar S3 which looks like it might be remapped too as we couldnt separate them in performance earlier tonight.

Moral of the story, before booking a remap, check if you already have one, im guessing its pretty common to have them without knowing.

Massive thanks to Simon down at RK Engineering. If anyone in the SW needs a VAG specialist, he came recommended and hasnt disappointed :icon_thumright:

Good news.

Where are RK? I've checked their website and there is no physical address on it? Got a mate looking for a decent place in the SW to service his G/F's TT.

It's good news you haven't got to fork out for a remap, though I think I'd be a bit gutted booking in for a remap to be told it's already been done...'no more power'

Yeh, we didnt know how to feel at first about being told we couldnt make it faster with a remap. Shame but im sure we can find some other goodies to compensate for our loss :D

Think i'd be gutted to find out that my s3 was already mapped.

Happy days, however you must be feeling the car is still slow if you were after a remap??

How about a stage 2 :racer:

Never really thought it was slow but who wouldnt want more power for not alot of cash. Shame it's not gonna be a cheap option for that extra bhp, so will probably concentrate on handling now.

I had Simon at RK do my remap aswell as fit my milltek cat-back and my forge DV valve.
Top lads at RK
