Our S3 went into RK Engineering today for an oil&filter and a new thermostat. This has fixed the dodgy temperature reading we'd been getting since getting the car a couple of weeks back.
Simon did the work and took it for a quick test drive after checking for fault codes (none found)
We had planned a remap at some point but Si told us the bad news when he got back.
"The car won't be any quicker after a remap"
That was the bad news.
The good news was, the car already has a remap
So, thats saved us around £300+ to spend on improved handling which will probably go on suspension as we found 2 broken rear Eibachs while we were there lol.
So, all in all a good day.
Also, a mate of ours has just recently got a similar S3 which looks like it might be remapped too as we couldnt separate them in performance earlier tonight.
Moral of the story, before booking a remap, check if you already have one, im guessing its pretty common to have them without knowing.
Massive thanks to Simon down at RK Engineering. If anyone in the SW needs a VAG specialist, he came recommended and hasnt disappointed :icon_thumright:
