Tuned Audi S3 8L vs....

mentioned in previous posts mate, i used to be specialist sales for the VX when i worked for vauxhall 2001 time, the turbo when released was stupid power as standard and the back used to kick out when booting it on a mildly uneven surface....so hate to think of it being increased

Buy an R5 Turbo and play with a Porsche. Dad use to have one with the wide wide archs...Untill someone decided to pour paint stripper all over it :asskicking: he then sold it and bought a primera! hahahaha. He loves cars but cant trust other people because hes had alot of bad incidents...

No no reason not to enjoy his cars!! I love the old school turbos. R5's, RST's etc

In that Elise clip, did he fluff 1st-2nd ?? Sounds quick though!

A Porsche Boxster S is only 5.9 0-60mph or 5.7 0-60mph just looked at stats. or is there another one? A tuned Hybrid S3 should smash it.
http://www.pictures-of-cars.com/reviews/porsche-boxster.htm

If all you care about is straight line stuff...then stats may tell you that.
The reality is that gearing and weight come into play...as well as power at the wheels once the 4WD system has robbed it's share.

Maybe if you'd driven a Boxster, you'd understand...

Add corners to the mix..and an S3 needs to be very well sorted to even keep one in sight.

Driven the Boxster S few times partners Dad has one and i would say a tuned S3 with Hybrid on Bilstein set up correctly def has the edge with out a doubt. Spoken to a few TT lads on TT forum and they have beaten quite a few without a problem with a chipped remapped TT with quickshift gear conversion. I would say a standard S3 hasn't got a chance though

A well set up S3 will struggle to stick with a Boxster on the twisties, no matter how much power you give it.
Even with 100BHP more than a remapped S3, you'd need such a long road with no bends, that overtaking a Boxster is unlikely to ever happen...especially as at some point there will be a need to brake - and the Bosxter will just outbrake the S3 anyway...no matter what brakes you fit to the S3.

Mine was properly set up...and on Bilsteins...and a standard Boxster S left me sitting, as described above somewhere.

So a hybrid turbo's S3 isn't going to cut it...maybe a well mapped BT S3...running 400+ BHP - if the road is straight and long enough.

Of course they have...
With a remap and quick-shift.

That makes all the difference...10 BHP down, more weight, worse gearing, crap brakes and front heavy...yup, makes sense to me.

Maybe they didn't meet anyone who could actually drive their Boxster on the way to their Salon?

Hey, you believe what you want...

I was actually looking at cars I could of got instead of the S3, nice low mileage Boxster S really is appealing but would look a right **** topping up to work. Still...a little depressing.

But it was chipped AND remapped so that must count for something!!!
