lots of turbo lag

since having my car re-mapped I seem to get lots of turbo lag at 3,000 rev's it seems to hold this for a second to 2 seconds where it seems to suck in lots of air but doesn't seem to gain! Is this normal or do I need to get the map ajusted? (im still using V power fuel so its not like im cheaping out there)
