I Had the annoying 3 bleeps a few weeks ago, and my central locking stopped working, I understand that this is the alarm control unit battries( under the subwoofer), Which can be fixed by replacing them or the alarm unit Its self.

However Now, becasue the central locking isnt working I have to open the door with the key, but when it comes to open my boot with the key, the lock just seems the spin as the key turns, and therefore the boot wont unlock and open.

Does anybody have any clues to why this might be happening and also is there a guide to repalcing the alarm control unit? , or do you recommend getting a grarage to replace it for me?

Many Thanks

Paddy

EDIT: is this link below the same for fixing this problem with the s3.....................? If so i think i may get a garage to do it!

ah! great thanks for that, was it hard to access? did u have to remove the sub?

Was abit of a pain didn't take the Sub out. My pump/motor was there in front of the sub when i took the panel off it had a tie wrap on it. I just cut that off pulled the connections off it not much space i may add cleaned them up put them back on and all is fine. I havn't tie wrapped it back on though as it seemed to be pulled to tight. Not the easiest places for working i was lucky my boot still opened.

haha yer thanks for that, mayby i will trya nd get in the boot with a light through the rear seats!

Appreciate your help!

You can see the pump by opening the cover thats in the boot over the passenger side wheel. The pump is covered in grey foam with a cable tie round it. It's recommended to remove part of the boot trim to be able to get the pump in and out easily.

Also I dont want to be a party pooper but if you require a brand new pump it will set you back £300 from the stealers and it will need to be coded to your key signal too. Mine needs replacing so i'm getting it done by a specialist.

If you're lucky then it could just be the cogs in the motor and you can get a recon kit for the pump off ebay for under £100. You'll need to get it checked out mate.
