Fitting a boost and afr gauges...

Right my plan is to fit the 2 gauges ive bought... namely innovate afr gauge and boost gauge,
I obviously want to avoid them looking mega out of place so i want them to light up and dim with the rest of the lights... a mate of mine has a mk4 golf and fitted a boost gauge to it after finding a "how too " for the lighting wiring ,
Has anybody fitted gauges this way to an s3? my freind was told to splice into the wires that go/ come from the head light switch, is this the best way?
Does anybody know which ones??
I know how to pick up an ignition live but that seems a bit crude for the illumination.

Its sat on my drive !
flipping weather ... think the term is "rain stops play"
ive got a new turbo... new god knows what else and a front mount to do... plus these gauges to try and make look half way to factory.
