....since lowering my car and fitting the 18's is that every bellend in a Fiesta/Saxo/Corsa wants to have a play with me.

I was driving back from my Girlies the other night along the M42 and caught the attention of a group of complete kidneys in a Fiesta Zetec S. The driver was so keen on trying to look at me that he nearly drove into the central reservation about 3 times. Clearly they were baiting me by speeding right up behind me, pulling out at the last minute and then just sitting level with me waiting for me to 'do something'. The only thing I did was flick the V's and mouth 'f*ck off' at him....he still didnt get the message.

Where the M42 turns to the M40 I'd finally had enough, me slowing down to get him to go away wasnt working so I just booted it, 3rd gear, 4th gear and half way through 5th.....Fiesta couldnt keep up by a long way and he was gone. I nipped off at the next junction to ensure he wasnt going to keep on following but jesus....what a complete fister.

Its happening more and more often now, sat at traffic lights and some idiot wants a play. I just let them go normally (give the impression I'm up for it but just cruise slowly away from the lights) but lately I've been getting a bit fed up by them.

Anyway, spleen vented but I wonder if someone can answer a question for me. I dont see my car as fast by a long way, I mean properly fast. Its quick enough for what it is but I know that there's a lot of cars out there that would eat me for breakfast. So, why do young lads (mainly) think its a good idea to get into a bit of a grand prix with someone when they know full well they're going to get taken to school?. It cant be much fun or very rewarding getting your ar$e handed back to you on a plate everytime you go for a bit of sport. I'd never take on something I know is a lot quicker than me only to watch is drive away over the horizon

Grrrrrr, morons.

T

PS: Yes I know 'racing' on a public road is bad, it was done to distance myself from matey boy who was almost crashing into everything else on the road...I didnt want him crashing into me. However on this occasion there wasnt much of a race, just an education:laugh:

In all fairness he must have been a right tit as a zetec prob has the same power to weight ratio you have, so you were lucky to leave him stood.

But yeah as soon as you do anything to your car it seems to invite everyone magicly to want to play. I am fortunate that i know if i wanted to "play" i could so i am safe in the knowledge plodding around knowing i could wipe the floor if i wanted to

I would imagine he was a tit, he certainly looked like one. It looked like a Zetec S (the old shape one) and certainly looked like he was trying. I think perhaps his fat tracksuit wearing mates in the back didnt do much help things ;). I've had a bit of a tussle with one of those before though and it was similar then, I think they run out of puff a bit quicker than me.

I've had 'modified' cars before and never had as much attention as I get now. Very odd

not to mention the saxo would have proably wupped your ***. The standard 1.8T is slooooow ***. Wait till you get it remapped and then kick *** :)

If there was a Saxo there I didnt see it :p

I wouldnt say the standard 1.8T is slow as though. They're not a slow car, just not as quick as people may expect. They do need a kick up the ar$e by way of a remap to get the best from them.

wait till you drive it after the remap and you will realize just how slow it was in comparision m8. slooow

That's pretty funny. There is nothing wrong with enjoying a bit of spirited fun, but trying to bait you is not exactly smart, mature, or most importantly ...... SAFE.
I often watch "erratic" drivers on the road, and move past them as quickly as I can when it is safe to [never know if they are drunk, stupid, etc. or all of the above] I would rather all the carnage happen behind me, because I worry that my baby may get injured [the car, I don’t actually have a kid!!!!!]

Today I was driving behind this AMG Merc, he was tailgating the cars in front of him, yeah they were slow, but what he/she was doing was dumb [flash for f*** sakes] so as the road split in to three lanes, he went for it.
I kept up with him, keeping my distance, and when he saw that I would prefer to be in front of his dumb @$$, he pulled over [that deserves a point because not enough people actually do that] and I left him to tailgate whoever he wants, so long as I don’t have to run straight in to the carnage he can cause.

I reckon that would be a red rag to a bull Tom

I drive a bright yellow car, shiny mirrors, lowered with big wheels and "S3" written on the front and back. Even the Police try to bait me! But, if anything it makes drive really casually 99% of the time.

They were probably friends of 1animal1 aka Tim...

The v's were flicked after about 4 miles of showing him I wasnt interested and him driving an inch away from my drivers door and rear bumper.

The guy was a pecker of the highest order and a complete danger to everyone around him. I'd made it quite clear that I wasnt interested for quite some time.

I was almost tempted to get on the blower and report a possible drunk in charge due to his ****** shamefull driving manner.

Grrr

he deserved it then Tom.
Oh and I reckon they must of thought you an Audi snob ;)

Yeah maybe, what with me driving along in my 9 year old Audi A3 and everything, expensive cigar in mouth, driving gloves on and monicle firmly in eye etc

i think it just the way these pr1cks drive now a days and nothing to do with trying to race, they dont realise people dont want young twats with slow noisey pices of crap tailgating there ***, i hate the little shits like that and normally just get away from them as it will end up with them stacked into you due to there gob ***** mates taking there attention of the road

To have to agree with you totally, my car is standard, its really wierd as alot of the cars that I think would want to race eg type r's, ST's and RS's never do, whereas on the other hand the saxo, corsa and 106/306 massive always want to try it!!!

I just let them think im ready to rumble, then pull off like im driving miss daisy!!!

I have nothing to prove to these people!!!

Yep, thats the best plan, although driving like a total bird on this occasion did me no favours. Just should have whipped him from the start and be done with it.

LOL...oh well, it just has to be done sometimes tho' dont it!!!

Those that can afford the nice cars have nothing to prove, those that cant and resent those that can however .........

My g/f got "revved" at 4 times yesterday; apparently people think she wants a guy who's mate's mum has too big an exhaust on a 3 cylinder corsa!

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

tbh, sometimes you have to make sure that you are not the one left looking like a tit. Some of them might look standard from outside but are proper sleepers. Imagine you had to do with a C20LET corsa...

I would just stop and make as if I have a tyre puncture...LOL

i had the same yesterday. two guys in a 1.6 a3 kept on wanting to race me up the motorway. ive got an s3 which has been remapped to about 270 bhp, i burned away from them didn't even drop down the gears just put my foot down in 6th, left them till i couldn't see them in my mirror then dropped back down to a sensible speed, but sure enough they came back right up my **** bout 10 minutes later. just let them pass in the end, which got them all excited because i think that they thought they had beaten me. lol assholes!!!!

Happened again today on the way home from work. Some lad in a 1.4 Golf Match with spinner hubcaps.

I just watched him slowly pull away as I cruised along. I could almost see his chubby from where I was sat.....:D

Bad times...Where in the country do you live A3Tom? Near Chavsville?

On a side note I am of the 1.6 collective. Obviously never race....no point:banghead: Just give a nod of appreciation whenever Im alongside a turbo, S3 etc...:sob:

oh dear, must i sell my tracksuit because it feels like ive been rumbled....one chav to another and all that:footy:

mid range the 150bhp 1.8T is a quick car even as standard..... from standing start it would have been closer id guess, mid range is a dif league....

thats funni because ever since i sold my white lupo 1.4TDi that had 16" black alloys on, lowered 40mm all around colour coded bumpers and twin pipe exhaust and been remaped. (looked dogs boll**ks i may add) decided i wanted to go up in the world and bought an audi s3, no1 even tries to race me. not that i want them to like. but because i had a modified lupo everyone used to presume i wanted to race.

i personally modified my car so that it looked good. wont bothered bout all the racing malarki. eventho it did stil shift. i used to have all sorts of cars pulling up next to me wanting to race.

there's only been one sort of car that does it now. and thats subaru's. why they think id want to race them i dont know.

If you are mapped i think you'd be suprised at how close you can come.......

When i had my gold 1.6 A3 slammed on black wheels i wouldnt hear the end of it (Saxo's with 4" japcans along with there mums ironing boards on the back acting as a "Spoiler" trying to race me sat on my back bumper). I just use to leave them to it. But now i got the S3 ive only had a few cars that wanted a race but i only race cars that i know i can beat. Some tw@t in a VTS tryed it on with all off his mates and got ripped....Even some nob in a Porshe boxster tryed it on with me he had his music loud and his fat **** of a miss's as passenger and he looked a wright **** after i killed him up the duel carridgeway. :asskicking:

Someone at my local car club was very suprised at what the S3 could do! Im on his bumper after a few mods. Its a 1999 2L T scooby.

Try having a scooby mate it never stops even from old fella's in escorts trying to race you from the lights lol
