cost of a full rspray can be as little as a thousnad quid but you pay for qaulity generally.
steam cleaning your engine bya is okay as long as electircs are kept clear of the water

fair enough just like the look of the archs on the 06 shape S4 and the S3 would look mint with archs like that

s3 already wider, al la RS4s etc. S4 and s6 arches are stock, S3 ones flared.

no worries fuma,I would ask a bodyshop if they could mop/polish the scuffs out rather than respray as it would be a lot cheaper.

As an alternative to steam cleaning the engine - have a look on detailing world, there's a forum specifically about engine bay cleaning there.

Most of the members seem to use a good degreaser / all purpose cleaner and a hosepipe (but making sure to cover all the electrics up first).

Failing that - Polished bliss sponsor the detailing section on here so maybe they would be able to tell you what you need to cover up?

bilton hamber suffix..... water based degreaser and a hose pipe..... will fetch everything off ya engine, top stuff!!! you will need some dressing to finish it off.... i use a small bottle of aerospace 303 protectant....damn good stuff and can use for the dash too, not too shiney and not too dull and best of all it is anti static so attracts less dust
