    Talking KO4 Turbo

    Hi all ,

When is the best time to upgrade to a new turbo does it depend on how many miles your car has done ? or do you get a upgrade kit like this ?

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/KKK-K03-K04-REBUILD-KIT-FORD-VW-AUDI-AND-OTHERS_W0QQitemZ180347047115QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_ CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item1803470471 15&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72%3A1683|66%3A2 |65%3A12|39%3A1|240%3A1318

Just wondered if your car is over 100k when should you replace mine is fine and working well just keeping on top of things !

No need to replace if it's running okay.

Should be the life of the car on standard boost or with a decent remap. Go mad on boost and you might melt one. Generally you shouldn't need to service the turbo.

It looks about 1500 for an upgrade to JBS05 (having already got their stage 1). Thats not too bad for a reliable extra 40-50bhp!

I wonder what sort of extra power would be acheived without the exhaust?
