AGU vs AUM

Here's a question for you. My friend has a Golf 1.8t with the AGU engine and is currently having a KO3s fitted and a remap this week. My A3 1.8t has the AUM engine which obviously already has the KO3s. When both cars are remapped(Stage 1), is there any advantage in power between the 2 as my friend has heard that AGU with the newer turbo performs better than the AUM. I cant see how myself but would be interesting to find out if he's right.

The engine spec itself will have very little bearing on the power output assuming the same size turbo and same mapping. However the later AUM will probably be drive by wire and will have the newer managment so can more likely be more fine tuned IMO so the way they drive will be different, even if the actual numbers on paper are different
