Changing Wheels.... what about the old torq wrench?

Last question for tonight honest.....

Was going change my wheels this week. Some German guy that lives in the same building as me commented on how I should use a torq wrench as I could mess the thread. Never used one before but he seems very knowledgeable about cars and has a cracking VW himself which he takes great pride in.

So..... do I need one or is it ok just to change as I normally would? What you guys reckon?

Using a torque wrench is the best way of putting wheel bolts on. You can do it without but you can often over tighten the bolts.
