soon collecting my '97 A3 1.8; anything 2 watch 4?

Hi folks,
I'm new to this site and audi's, so be nice ;-)
it has 74K on it now, with FSH (all maindealer, except one) I understand it is aproaching a major service and belt change @ 80K? is this going to cost the earth? should i keep it main dealer history but have the belt fitted by an audi specialist to save ££s (eg www.germaniacarsales.com)??

Is there anything I need to look out for in particular with the A3's?

does it mean that it has a bose sytem as there is a OEM sub in the boot? (or do the std systems also have a sub?)

u sure u dont want to go for the 1.8T instead? or the facelift?

don't have the £'s to go for anything like the T, £5999 trade (needed to get rid of a calibra auto M plate, and nobody wants it. so part ex'd)

so it could have a std system - are they easy to add an autochanger, or am i best going for a new haed too?

I am picking it up friday, So i'll let you know what the insurance is like then! hahah 27, & i have full no clms anyway so i hope it'll b ok.
i think it has the regular pepperpot alloys on it, so I'll probably change to some TT rims - if they fit???

u can get up 2 19" without n e hassel,

i still think u should go for 1.8t lol

hhhmm don't want to be spending ££'s, hence going for s/hand tt rim's. Not actually sure what the older S3 rims look like, should b able to pick up some cheap right?

i have the same rims 18"

lol mine is a 1.6sport, i cant afford 1.8t insurance
hopefully by the end of the year, should have 1.8t

is the 1.8 much quicker than the 1.6?

its black, 19 insurance is under my mums name, so about £700,

rims were cheap £700 18" with avon tyres

previous onwer had audi service history, am not gona bother with that, mines up 4 service, my dads gona do that for me then get local garage to stamp book.

Problem i hav is ABS lights stays on. alot of A3s have this problem, i still have to get mine sorted

I just called them concerning my 80k service - £150 (as apose to audi's 300 odd!) they called me back real wuick too - seems they're hot on customer services; he sounded a decent guy too.
