Fitting my facelift headlights this weekend. HELP NEEDED

Im going to be fittig my facelift headlights this weekend and need to clarify a couple of things.

This may have been covered before but i wanted to get it all in one thread for other users too as I know Rickster will be doing it soon.

Please can anyone anwser one or all of these.

    1. How does the bumper come off? (as im told it needs to come off to get the headlights out).

    2. Is there a switch over of looms needed to be done to make them work or will it be plug n play?

    3. Do they sit perfectly? I seen in a thread on another site that i need to cut part of the front wing? (inside).

    4. Are all the mouting points the same?

    5. Are the bulbs the same?

    Thanks Guys.

not been funny so dont take this the wrong way. i think ya might be best getting someone to help you with this job mate. especially when your asking how to take off the bumper!?

looks like your going in blind to me without any "know how"

last thing you want to do is make a hash of it by cutting away too much of your wing or something. good luck with it tho and take pictures of your progress and post them up onto the site once the job is done

Haha, I think you may have got it the wrong way.

Im good with cars and these things, I installed my saxo angel eyes before.

Im jsut asking how exactly the bumper is held on, i.e how many bolts, and where, etc etc, to make it easier for me, as my saxo was held on with two big plastic grips on the slam panel.. weird design.

    Im not stupid.

I jsut wanted to amke sure i knew everything before i started, as i hate surprises.

As theres always one thing that slows you up if you dont research, i.e i should of undone the resevouir pipe on my power steering pump before removing it from the mounts (previous car)... simple things that can save lots of time.

The bumper is held i with 4 x popper things on th top above the grille, and 3 x torx screws on each end just under the arch lip iirc. I should then pop off its side mounts and pull off.

The headlights use a completly different plug on the facelift units to prefacelift, also the leveling motors have different plugs too.

just checked mate, they are m10 12 point spline. If you don't have one, you can use either an 8mm allen key or t50 torx bit. Be warned though these only grip 6 of the points so if yours are stupidly tight you might round them off. Mine came off easily though. Good luck!
