s3 is kinda holding bk now and again

hi there was just wondering if anyone could help please???? noticed lately that my s3 somtimes whilst accelerating seems to feel like it is stoping usually in forth and 5 gear bout 4000rpm then just seems to bolt of again but only does it now and again have been told it might be the d v valve breakin down can anyone help please ??? car is standard 03 reg

Vagcom is your friend, see if you can get it read on there, that will bring up any faults and you should hopefully have your answer then....

Take out the maf sensor and give it a clean may have a little build up of dust.

Its just behind the air filter on the intake pipe. Be very careful when your cleaning it and use met's or carb cleaner.
