Is this a good deal at an Audi dealership:

Full Variable service (inc plugs etc), Haldex oil and filter change, brake fluid change and Beissbarth 4WA = £472 inc vat?

First time getting the S3 serviced at a dealers. It needed a wash and a hoover so at least it got that too!

don't know the answer to your question, but I would only trust my S3 with a specialist, and my specialist of choice is VAGTech. To each his own though.

i would get a few quotes from a specialist garage if i were you to be honest mate.

That seems a tad high to me.

I had the 80k service/haldex/brake fluid changed for £250 all in via a specialist.

The tracking shouldn't cost you more than £70.

Yeah i think £250 would be the aim for that lot. But then i think going to audi is a ripoff.

Sounds like you have already had it done? if not i would say get plenty of quotes. and tbh i recon a lot of places could be bartered with as surely most will be struggling?

thats very reasonable from a stealer, allignment costs me £100 on its own at a specialist..haldex at my stealers was £130
it seems they must realise they are going to have no work unless they cut prices.

Which speclialist did you use?

im sure the dealers charge less than £100 for haldex oil and filter, its a 30 min job tops parts are about £40

Just to wrap this up, got the lot done (as listed in first post) for £360 at the dealers in the end. I foudn that much more reasonable :)

Audi are now doing a thing called club class, this entitles you to 25% discout. I bought my car privaate, needed a part so phoned the dealer and they signed me up free of charge. You also get a free MOT for the period you have the car. Its not a bad deal.

My mate had his timing belt changed on his s3 and it only cost £300 ish which aint bad.

Just thought i'd mention for those who weren't aware

4 wheel alinment can cost up to £200 at a dealer quote]

That sounds extortionate for 4 wheel allignment. Last time I had it done I recall it being nearer the 30/40 mark.

I think the price largely depends on a) the Audi dealer and prehaps other work you might be having with them at the same time b) how much in 'man hours' it takes to bring the car back to factory alignment spec and if the dealer is honest abbout time spent on it and c) how hard you haggle with the dealer.

If you got it for £30-40 without having any other work done at an Audi dealer then nice one - tell us which dealer and we'll all go there!
