Hi All

Got my A3 last week and thought i would get on the forum and show some pics

its a 2000 1.8T Quattro

Mileage is a bit on the steep side (116k) but i got it at a bargain price

Mods on it are

BMC Enclosed Filter
Forge DV
Lowered
Alloys

Now it does have a full service history but to be on the safe side i want to get some precautionary maintenance done.

It is booked in on Thursday with a specialist in Derby for a service and im not sure exactly what to get done on it apart from the obligatory oil change.

I have made a shortlist of the following items and was wondering what else could i renew for piece of mind.

Haldex oil and filter
Gearbox and diff oil
Fuel filter
Plugs (which ones and where from?)
Coolant

From the list above i have only purchased the haldex oil and filter so far, can anyone recommend me makes and models for the other items?

Also could someone tell me whether it is safe to get it remapped with such high mileage? And does someone know of a decent aftermarket exhaust system or should i go custom?

I think thats plenty for a newbie post

Cheers Sam

Hello and Welcome Sam to the site, nice tidy white one.
116k is just broke in

Nice colour on your car dude.. get the service done and im sure you will pick up some other little things you can change on it. which 1.8t engine is in it?

Car looks good mate, wheels really suit it! well done. And :sign_welcome:

awesome lookins car Sam! looks really nice in white, and it's fairly rare!

I wouldn't worry about the mileage AT ALL. I bought my 1.8T on 126k, and 2 1/2 years later it's now on 177k and still going perfectly, that's with a ko3S mapped to 240bhp.

I'd recommend a change of brake fluid to add to that list, and also I'd definately check if it's due a cambelt or now.... if it had one at 60k, then it's getting close to needing one again, so that's something to think about.

those wheels go really well on the white car, looks very cool.

Do I see a black leather interior through the rear window too?

hi prawn, super helpful mate

Belt was done at 75k so got a while yet

I'll add brake fluid change to the list

Forgot to mention it has heated leather and gps so fully loaded

think it would look very nice with an s3 kit on it too, good purchase

welcome and lovely looking car!!

White is the new black....apart from dolphin Grey though!!

Sam your very lucky mate..

I was looking for a white A3/S3 after i sold my black one, looked for about 2 months, couldnt find a single one that was in good shape or didnt have something wrong with it.. eventually i found one in wales that was mint, not a single blemish on the paint work, interior was in good nick even though it was the wrong colour (so i put recaros and black interior in) but unfortunatly the engine is a n/a 1.8 so ive got a BAM engine to put in it..

lol so i've done everything backwards, worked out cheaper and more fun this way anyway, and will end up quicker but well done on the buy.

if you dont mind me asking, how much did you pick her up for? do you have any pix of the interior?

Shy
