Good Price or Not?

Ok my audi a3 (cough cough 1.6 8v) has done the piston rings! .

I have popped the head off myself and the rest of the block out Sunday to be sent off to be reconditioned.

I am paying £470 for the engine rebuild including the head and guides done and the piston rings changed! Then i just need to get the usual stuff such as waterpump, thermostat, cambelt.

Just wondering because to me this seems like a really good price looking for opinions?

sounds fairly OK I guess..... it's just a shame you're going to spend all that money and at the end of the day it'll still be a 105bhp 1.6!!!

If you can do all the labour yourself, that's saving you loads though, so you may as well go for it. it'll be basically a new engine, and ready for another 100k+
