    Cost of Hybrid turbos,Why so much?

    It may just be me, but to have the standard K04 made into a hybrid seams very expensive almost a grand by most tuners, that sounds very steep considering you can by a brand new GT28R for 600 ( No exchange) which is what I put on My old RS2000 4x4.

    Why is it so expensive? Maybe a tuner can explain!

    the thing with a hybrid turbo is, you can use your existing manifold and downpipe, as well as all the other lines.

    generally, most aftermarket manifolds for GT28 turbo's are 500+, plus you need a downpipe made up to suit, as well as new oil and water lines making up to suit the new turbo core.

    The hybrid ko4 option sounds like a good one to me, but it's strange so few people do it....

    Can you get more power from just bolting on a Hybrid and re-mapping?

    Pretty much. Custom mapping best obviously and I think the hybrids can benefit from a better downpipe.
