Exhaust/Engine Question Help Needed ASAP

Car is A3 TDI.

Car passed MOT on Saturday. They guy said that the Flexi between engine and exhaust is gona and need replaced.

Can anyone tell me, or give me example of what this is???

I know the CAT has a flexi on it but he said it aint that. I am fitting a new CAT at weekend as the CAT is gone anyway but he said it isnt the CAT.

Any help grealy appreciated.

Let me know if it's the wrong diagram, there are a few types, depending on engine code. I think it's right though.
