Hey all,

When i got my a3 the previous owner had switched the passenger airbag off, due 2 having a baby there. I want this back on, is there anyway of putting it back on with a vagcom, or n e other way?
its not the key one either which in some A3 u have in glove box

Thanks /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

This can be done with vag-com, however, i suggest you get the dealer to do it! Something like that, if it goes wrong could be bad. Shouldnt cost much

Someone on clubgti has just been quoted £150 at his local dealer!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Surely its just a few mins with VAG-COM?? Although I've never been near the airbags with my version. I've heard you can set them off?

Don't you believe it!
Stealers charge between 0.5 - 1.0 hours labour for this, £35 - £75, just for plugging it into a computer for 5 minutes. Also, they are reluctant to do it unless you have the paperwork from when it was deactivated.

I no i got a quote last time, its quite expensive 4 a very small job.

n e other ideas ?

Try an Audi specialist with the VAG diagnostic computer. I think that its a simple operation to re-activate the air bag and warning light on the dash should confirm that it is active i.e. the airbag light will go out and stay out, not flash 5 times before going out each time you start the car.
