Just wondered if anyone on here was running Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta tyres on there S3 and if they were what they thought of them?

Just bought 4 - 225 40 18 for my S3 for £326 (supply only) thought that was a really good price, currently running Eagle F1's which weren't as good as I thought they would be.

I used to run the Guigario's and they were good in the dry but a bit hairy in the wet. I'd imagine the wet performance has improved with the later Sessanta tread pattern. £326 isn't a bad price!

I'm running Sessantas on my TQS, they seem to be a very good tyre, low noise and good grip wet or dry.

How are they wearing? Car currently has goodyear eagle F1's on and I am very dissapointed with them, had them on a Lupo GTi and they were excellent so don't know if I've got some dodgy tyres but all 4 have worn very strange, lasted less than a year (about 7000miles steady driving mostly back and forth to work) and are very noisy. Thought I might get in touch with Goodyear about them to see if they have had any problems.

I haven't had the new tyres fitted yet as i've been doing the front ARB today so going to get them fitted and tracked up at same time now the ARB is done - thank god!

Eagle f1s are loud. There is no doubt about that.

If you are having strange wear patterns that isnt the fault of the tyres, thats the fault of your 4 wheel alignment.

At £45-60 for proper hunter machine alignment there is no excuse really as it'll save you that in tyre wear alone.

Got them on mine mate, they were new on the car when i bought it a year ago, never had any issues with them, but then again i mainly only do a steady drive to and from work, never done any track days only the odd spirited drive on a few twisties,as for wear like i say they been on a year but thats only about 4000 mile to me but there still like new bearly worn, hope this helps

The F1's had only been on a month when I bought the car and it had been tracked at the same time - charlie browns type place. I noticed the tyres wearing badly - evenly on both front inside edges so had it tracked again at a VAG specialist £100 and although it stopped the scrubbing it drove worse seems to wander all over the place, immpossible to get it to go in a straight line.

Going to have the tracking done at my local VW dealers after having the tyres fitted as there cheaper than Audi and also the specialist. But I just don't understand especially with the equipment garages now have how they can get it so wrong, its not exactly rocket science is it?

I have that problem with muy car wandering all over the place. :(
I've had mine tracked with new tyres and then again when I changed suspension so I dont (or at least shouldn't) have uneven tyre wear.

I'm on my second set, wear rate for the first was 16k which I was very surprised at considering the Contis I had on before last 13k and the F1's 11k.

Very impressed with them, road noise is minimal. You have to warm them up a bit to get the grip but even so they have been impressive in the wet and icy conditions recently. Plus the cost is good.

Motormouth, where have you ordered your tyres from??

If you dont mind me asking...after a set in 17's soon.

Got mine locally mate but I did contact some sellers on ebay that had the tyres listed in other sizes and a few replied saying they could supply them in the size I wanted and were only about £20 more than I paid including delivery so I would advise you to look on there and also to ring round locally to you as you might drop on some cheap as I did.

i payed £360 for 4 brand new toyo proxy 4's not so long ago from wheel base supply only that was a massive bargin

In 17" Toyo T1Rs should be £68.

The 17" Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta are £80 each.

In 18" Vredestein are £91 and Toyo £82.

So a set of 4 for £326 is indeed a good price!!

Not really. You could have saved £32 getting them from Camskill and thats RRP not trade rates.

£32 round here will also get them fitted.

Awesome news, i have been hunting for a place to get these at a good price to go on my S3 but have been failing till now. Nice to hear about another S3 running these tyres and praising them.

I live in Tadley, down the bottom of the hill by the swimming pool.

Yeah i pretty much allways use wheelgame for my tyres, working in Newbury and spending too much time in Storm Development means im around by the AWE a lot.

Was that 328 for 17" or 18" tyres and how would you rate the Ultrac Sessanta's?
