Getting Towed

I need to get my S3 (1999) towed (car is stuck in garage at the moment), so I'm wondering how I get to the toe eye?

Is the toe eye behind the grill in the bumper? Or does it need to be screwed in?

Does the grill just pop out from the bumper? If so, is it the middle grill, or the left\right one?

I've got a tow bar, but wondering if I might need a rope instead. Anyone got experience in towing an S3?

The offside front bumper grill clips out and you just screw the towing eye in there.

Towed my S3 about 35 miles from work to home a few months ago, was no different then being towed in anything else.

Think I used a bar iirc !

Offside...is that the passenger side?

Nearside is 'near' to the kerb. Offside is the other one... That's how I remember it.

Have a look in the owners handbook, it'll tell all in there, with pictures too.

The towing eye is under the floor panel in the boot, along with the toolkit and spare wheel.
