Clock spring

Hey all. Ive recently changed my steering wheel and been told ive damaged my clock spring by a mechanic. I changed from a mulit function to a normal 3 spoke. Should i have changed the clock spring to accomodate the new wheel? When i changed it on the original, the wipers started goin funny etc. Anyone had any experience with this??

nope but when i saw the thread title 'clock spring' i wee'd myself.....

If you paid me to replace the clock spring on your steering wheel you'd be tickling your hand everytime you went on full lock
