I have just bought a 1.6 A3 and the Service light is on, it has remained on since the service I gave it, is there a way to reset it? aside from the £260 Audi in Norwich want for a "full 40k service" PMLOL. How is the service light triggered? Thanks in advance guys much appreciated /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

hello mate

i just did a search and came across this. dont know if it will work but someone posted it.....
---------------------
If carrying out your own service then to remove the anoying service light on start up then try this.

Press and hold the right button. (odometer reset)

now switch on the ignition
(oil lamp will not flash, but on at all times)

press the right button again
(insp is now displayed)

pull left button. (clock set)
(------ are now displayed)

Pull left button again

This works on my A4 tdi (110bhp) but should work on all.

let me know if this is any good

The light is triggered by two methods one is a predetermined time from the last service i.e. so many miles covered and the other is AVS, which is dependent on how the car has been driven (Basically).

This is the procedure required as described above. Save the pic so you can zoom in.
