corrosion on back number plate light holder/boot handle

i know it is a common problem, what is the best way to fix it, replace or repaint? what is the proper name for the part? thanx in advance.

You might be able to get this looked at by Audi free of charge under the paint warranty thingy. I have the same on mine, but just never been to get it checked....I will one day...lol...
