Hey guys been looking for a black S3 for some time now seen ALOT of dogs and people wanting top money for a car that is simply not worth what they want and i just wondered if anyone out there is wanting to sell has one for sale or is thinking about it,

I kinda would prefer one with less than 80k and black leather or the black and cream alcantara interior!

Let me know guys as im almost ready to give up:bye:

All the best

Matt:arco:

Matt,

Just bought one (Dolphin Grey) and been looking for months - here what your saying on some of the cars on offer - total dogs!..

There is a (very nice) one on here for sale thats had the MTM turbo upgrade etc if that's to your liking.

Cheers

Jim

Matt, why black? Have you considered Ming blue? Almost looks black in some lights, purple/black under flourescent light and blue in direct sunlight.

Unique lovely colour, but then i am bias having one myself! :p

I have a black one that i'm considering selling Matt, depends what you're looking to pay?

I've just had the cambelt & front anti roll bar replaced at Audi (big expense out the way and should be good for a long time), full service at Audi in April (day after I bought it), i've replaced all 4 brake discs & pads. Original parts from Audi for the rear & Black Diamond discs at the front with Ferodo DS2500 pads
It has the Blue Alcantara seats though
It's done 64K now, I bought it at 56K I think in April
Has Climate & Sunroof + BOSE Stereo system, Alloy Mirrors
FSH + Lots of other history, mainly Audi services but chap I bought it off had 2 Specialist services
Comes with an S3 plate too, I've got my own plate on it but retained the S3 plate which it had from first registration

I know what you're saying about dogs, it took me 18 months to find this one, I was only willing to have the Blue seats though as I deteste leather and couldn't find a cloth seated one anywhere!
I viewed 8 before I bought mine

Only thinking of selling due to how much RS4 prices have dropped and fancy one of them

Matt, you do know that Black S3's are confirmed to be the slowest ones in the range and that Silver ones are 'considerably' quicker???

Only messing mate, does it have to be black??

As already mentioned there are a few good ones about, but not necessarily in black...

Good luck anyway mate.

shall we put that to the test buddy :arco:

Wernlas I can't believe you're selling already, although if its for an RS4...

I've got a black one with black/cream alcantara. It was the first one I saw and I brought it - I guess I got lucky. It was owned by someone on here but I didn't know it at the time.

I'd definately consider other colours - mine looks mint when its just been cleaned and polished, but a day later, especially this time of year it looks rubbish again (well not rubbish, but very dirty).

I don't think you should limit yourself to black, its more important to get a good one. A black one sitting broken outside your house won't look as good as a silver one you're driving around in.

hello there guys

thanks for your replys i've replied to peoples offering there cars thank you very much, seriously wish i had money strong enough for faz's motor ooooeee thats nice !!

well i think i've gone too far down the line with the black car hunt turned down loads of silver and ming ones totally holding out for a black one just cos i like black cars lol

I have a Black S3 on 89k!

Only just bought it and discovered that its not really my sort of thing (would rather an integra!!)

Hi Matt, i bought a black 2003 model 3 months back. The exterior is such a b*tch to keep clean and you can imagine how easily fine scratches show up on the finish. If i could turn back time i'd definitely go for silver or some other colour. Just my 2c

Mmmmmm, i'll retract my last comment at the peril of upsetting certain people....hehe

Faz forget it mate, i know theres no contest with yours, but Jo, yours might be remapped, but just remember I'M ALOT lighter than you....hahaha ;)

Hello and Welcome to the site

I know Deece, after it took me so long to find it too!
When I bought it in April though a decent RS4 was still well over 20K
Now i'm seeing great 'sounding' (haven't been to look at any yet) RS4's for 16K, credit crunch and all that I guess
Because of the credit crunch and the amount of money i've spent on my S3 i'm not sure it's worth me selling though, a buyer would probably get a better deal elsewhere because I wouldn't be willing to drop the price.
Afterall the credit crunch is just making my finances better and better!

I wouldn't ever have Silver or the 'Millenium' colour as I call it, so many silver cars about, must admit I don't see many silver S3's (don't see many S3's in general) but it just wouldn't be for me. 3 of the 5 cars I've ever owned have been Black cos I love Black! I had a Ming Blue A3 T Sport though which is also a gorgeous colour. I'd have had an S3 in that, any of the Grey's or the Maroony colour, that is beautiful!
I'm not fussed about how clean it looks though.

I only use mine for pleasure driving, got an old Grey Civic EK for commuting or any lugging of junk & fishing Tackle e.t.c

I'm afraid I agree with Tom, the S3 feels a little lacking to me, it was one of only 2 cars I could afford that i'd have owned at the time. The other being a DC5 Integra. With me being so picky though they were even harder to find. I think I wish i'd have found one of them before the S3 though now.

Instead of selling and getting an RS4 the other option is to keep it and get an EK9 or an EP3 EDM OR JDM, don't want to spend DC5 money, they're still way overpriced!

DC5's can be had for around £9k now, EK9's are still silly money £6k+ for a decent one, and if you can find a rare Black one, then you need to pay a premium! EP3 is a water'd down TypeR isn't it, it's more like a modern VTI than TypeR compared to an Integra DC2 or DC5, Honda are just cashing in on the TypeR name niche and who can blame them.

Totally agree jojo, I test drove an EP3 and felt like I was driving a mini van. Still quick to be fair but I felt sat in the air and it didn't feel anything like driving my little EK
My friends DC5 was a far superior machine though
You can get an EP3 very cheap though now, there's so many of them! and I think as a toy to rough around in they'd be fine.
A JDM one would be better though with the LSD, stiffer rear ARB and a bit more power.
Most DC5's that are 9K are Y/51 reg and I think that's still alot of money for a Honda of that age. Not too mention they are usually the bottom end of the market.
There are quite a few EK9's for 5K to 6K now though, those that are coming in over 10 years old to avoid the SVA, quite often Grade 4's with a reported <70K mileage. Even cheaper if you can find a nice example at the Import Auctions.
I'd prefer an older one anyway as I prefer the wide mouth front end to the facelift.
Like you say Black ones are very rare and are often more expensive
I'd have like to have seen this one in time as it 'looks' quite nice:
