Hi can anyone help me with my A3 1.8T Quattro that has the following issues.

My car is bouncing around when idling, it's not bouncing much but the needle is moving up & down & I can feel a judder in the car, this is whilst sitting still.

When driving along normally if I'm stopping I put the clutch down and the rev's drop to 500 then quickly go back to slightly over 700 again, just over 700rpm is normal, this is also the case if I start the car when it's warm, when cold it's ok but I guess thats the auto choke, however when first pulling away for the first few times the car is very sluggish.

When I change gear I dip the clutch and the car jolts, it's not a smooth as it was, seems very jerky - especially pulling away.

I do hear a slight rushing of air sound coming from the engine bay, I think from the drivers side but I can't see anything obvious or hear anything with the bonet up, this noise can't be heard when the car is not moving, it only appears whilst the car is accelerating.

Very poor MPG's, normally I get 32mpg but getting around 26mpg's seems to be peeing fuel, not a cheep habit just now .

I've tried the following to remedy the issues

Changed MAF sensor
Changed Spark Plugs
Changed Air Filter
Cleaned Throttle Body Housing + reset ECU
Oil was low so I've topped up again as this A3 is one of the oil guzzlers
CTS
Coil Packs
DV replacement
Lambda probe "following some errors on VAG COM"

I've had a check around the pipes and connections but cant see anything obvious.

I've run VAG COM tonight which has pulled up some lambda related errors however the lambda was replaced 2-3 months ago and surely can't be the issue - this A3 only has the 1 lambda probe and it's pre cat.

Any help would be really really appreciated.

Thread revival!

on a side note, i had this problem recently (after putting a decat on if that makes any difference), didn't change anything, got the car remapped and the problem went away.

Didnt look at the date lol, i always thought it be worn bushes, i have exactly the same symtoms but no fault codes

I didn't have any fault codes either barr one that only came up with vagcom and bill mapped it out, was a bug in the software but kept throwing my car into limp mode
