On board computer display

I'm in the process of buying an S reg A3 1.8 T Sport, everything seems sound but im concerned the on board computer isnt functioning as it should be. I thought you should be able to scroll through various info such as temp, MPG etc. Can anyone tell me what info should be displayed?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

on the quattro - maybe the same for 1.8T - it goes
MPG
MILES IN TANK
DRIVING TIME
AVERAGE SPEED
AVERAGE MPG

Dont quote me on the order but i thinks thats rite?

The temp guage is constantly on above the Driver Information System ( on board cpu)
