cam belt parts it about time

well im doing the cam belt soon so went and got the parts from Vw full kit and water pump £109 plus I get a bit back as the pump is exchange unit.

Can`t believe how small the pump is lol

Only thing I forgot was coolent ... doh and possibly that little damper ( shock absorber thingy) Is that needed when you do the job ??? It wasn`t in the kit .

kit is belt , tensioner and a Idler roller I think.

You don’t need to change the little damper you refer to.

That is to tension the belt, you just need to compress this and use a pin to hold it in place while you fit the belts.

It is often easier to remove it from the engine and compress it in a vice.
