    K03s turbo?

My mate has been offered a turbo for his AGU A3,he has been told its a K03s but wants to make sure its the right part before buying it.
Does anyone know the part number for the right K03s for his car?

K03s has 8 blades on the compressor, k03 has 12.

Can't rememeber the part numbers, but look on the blue plate on the compressor housing. If it says 052 onwards then it's a k03s. If it says something like 011, then it is not.

I'm sure someone will add the proper numbers later.

Is the K03s a straight swap or do you need to upgrade other components too?

Its a straight swap, apart from changing the turbo intake pipe as the ko3s has a slightly larger diameter,a forge one is the better option,as the oem alloy one is not the best for flow.A ko3s will give you more top end instead of running out of puff at 5000 rpm, other mods and mapping will maximise the ko3s , but a useful upgrade anyway.

The turbo itself is a direct straight swap, it uses the original manifold and downpipe, and all the same oil and water lines too.

However, you would need your map altered to suit the larger turbo, otherwise you would risk running lean.

Most people will add at least a decent turbo back exhaust, and a front mounted intercooler is needed to get the best from the setup. Anything else is up to you really!

I ended up doing LOADS more than I planned, Forge silicon hoses, DV relocation, G60 flywheel and VR6 clutch to cope with the torque, smoothed airbox.

Then of course, you need the suspension and brakes to cope with the extra power!
