Over rev

i have a golf with s3 amk engine in and when im giving it some and change gear it over revs when i change im wandering if this is just an amk thing or if its something common i can fix

Either you can't change gears properly or the clutch pedal switch is knackered (less likely ).

The part is around £8 from Audi and doesn't take too long to change over, but it can be fiddly. It's a common problem on the 1.8T engines.

a mechanic for vw said it over revd and also another chap so defo not me lol


to be fair i thought it was cos i was crap because sometimes its worse then others

i also read this only makes a difference if u have cruise control i do not ?? or is this false

I think this is false, i thought they all had the clutch switch/sensor.

As iirc if you press the clutch the sensor will drop the revs?

My S3 Does the exact same thing! clutch down and revs keep going (only for bout 1 sec) Whats goin on
