Knocking sound

I sometimes hear a knocking sound when cornering, I'm not sure if it's inside or outside (so this don't really help in my description) but it's not all the time and I think it's more based on the driver side. was wondering if it's a wheel bearing or somethign and if so how do I check or will I just know if it progressively gets worse? fanx /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

right - this expenise? I tend to do the same as in my last car when i hear new problems, turn up the radio /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif lol but don't want to get into that situation again really - I'll keep an ear out for it, and report back if it's consistent etc (fanx for the advice stuart)
