Morning Folks!

Had my second AVS service yesterday (42k), and oh my god was it expensive!

I'd mentioned to the Service manager that it was losing power at around 3000 rpm. An hour after I dropped it off (and given a cak A2 as a courtesy car), he rang me. That always means trouble! Basically, the Air Mass Meter was faulty and a new one fitted was £335. S**t!

So the total for yesterday's trip to the stealers was:

Service - £305
Re-gas the climate - £135 (Way over priced too!)
Air Mass Meter - £335

When I got home I checked the oil. It was just as black as it was before I took it in /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burningmad.gif. Does anyone know the reason for this? I guess they use the 'suck out the old oil' process instead of doing it properly. If they do, it'll be going back to be done properly. You don't pay £780 for them to cut corners.

Have a good weekend everyone!

My second AVS service which was about 36K Miles & 2 years was about £240, that included re-gassing the air con, new brake fluid, all the usual 2 year stuff.

Sounds like they've bent you over mate /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Sounds expensive! I think you can get the gas for the climate done for about £50 from an independant specialist and I thought you could get the MAF exchanged for £80!

I'm not 100% sure on the MAF exchange but I think I read something along those lines!

Cheers
Rich.

Hi Rich,

Wasn't the MAF that went (dont even know if a diesel has one!), but the Air Mass Meter.

Either way, I'm walking like John Wayne this morning...... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Yeah I think some places are charging about £70-80 for the mass sensor when done with a service.

Not sure if they are that cheap if you just order one. Bloomin should be tho!
