    S3 buying advise

tried posting earlier with little success.
I am currently looking for a 225bhp s3 and am confused by adverts saying cars are 225 models where they seem not to be. What year did the 225bhp cars come out and what what plate. I am seeing x plate 2000 cars claiming to be 225 cars which i thought was too early. any help would be appreciated
    regards

Check/ask for the engine code to be sure, BAM= 225bhp. Anything else will be a 210.

    Hi

I had this problem when buying mine.

I think x reg is too early to be 225.

Best off looking at the engine code

    AMK is 210 (facelift)

    BAM is 225 (facelift)

Earlier models do exist which are pre facelift and definitley not 225.

    I may be selling my 210 (2001 Y reg Facelift) soon....but not 225!

so long as it was the facelift model it didn't bother me.

HI, I think there is a chassis stcker in the spare wheel section under the carpet in the boot. Also on the engine under the engine cover.

If they are fibbing about it being a 225 then what else are they fibbing about?!?!?

    I travelled for hours to see a 225, when i arrived it was a 210 non facelift....angry!

I've never seen the two close up together so don't really know how much of a difference there is.

    Paint code's...

    Dolphin Grey - Metallic - LX7Z - F5
    Mineral Grey - Metallic - LY7K - Z8

Either way they both look mint and in my eyes are the best S3 colours by far...
