Big intercooler fitted,but have a question?

I have fitted my big intercooler, but wanted to know if anyone else who has done this has removed the lower intercooler link pipe(the one that joins the 2 standard ones together) as it looks like it might be structual owing to the braces on it. don't want to leave it there if its not needed.

I asked a few people about this...
They all said its a brace bar aswel as a link pipe. leave it where it is at all costs,

yeah its a brace also standard non turbo golfs come with them as standard dont take it off, they arnt capped at te ends though so no need to worry bout capping the ends off
