Reverse Lights Stuck On

Hi All

Ive had the plague of the reverse lights being stuck on all the time. Ive taken the car in to a garage and had a new switch fitted but the problem is that the reverse lights wont come on at all now. The mechanic seems to think there is a problem with the gear selector switch but I told him I would ask the experts, you guys, for any advice.

I think it could still be a faulty switch, you may have a new one fitted, but has it been fitted correctly???

If the angle of the selector arm isnt quite right that can oftern trigger the reverse lights so they constantly stay on, had it on a makes Mk4 Golf with the same style cable change box

Thanks guys. Do you know if I can change the angle of the selector arm maunally?
