Following on from the "Surge issue - map itself" topic created by Fran, I have now been advised that I'm having a "Fuel Trim Malfunction" on the S3.

It went in the garage with the following symptoms:

- Misfires (present on diagnostic print out from VAGCOM – See attached)

- O2 Sensor(s) & Catalytic Converter – “Failed or incomplete” on VAGCOMs ‘View Readiness’ screen (see attached)

- Great loss in power, noticeable difference

- Sounds like a tank

- Running lean and smells very hot after steady runs + plus poor MPG.

- Boost leak reported from previous VAGCOM logs (would be good if this could be cleared)

Now, they're unable to find any other issues, just this 'ere Trim malfunction. I did a bit of reading on Ross-Tech sites/1.8T VW forums.. the whole running rich/running lean baffles me. I'm yet to get the VAGCOM out properly my self to test the running values for Group 32 (the Trim(?))

They had the car back yesterday for a fuel pressure test, this was fine. So I've got the car back, again, and have been asked to do more driving with the Event Logger plugged in.

Back in first thing tomorrow to see if theres any other faults.

Thing is, the cars booked in on Wednesday with Audi for the Warranty paintjob, it will have been about two weeks since I've driven the beastie properly!!

Sad times :(
