No Breaklights!!

Alright guys,

I have no brakelights and have checked the fuse and it is fine! As i doubt all three bulbs have gone it leaves me to think its the switch near the brake pedal!! But how do i get to the switch?? Its an 2003 facelift!!

Some one help me as i want to be able to drive to Edition 38 tomorrow morning!!

I had this problem on my 1.8T Sport.

Erm, I think the plastics under the steering wheel had to come off. Once its accessible, it's easy enough. I got a new piece from GSF Part in Lincs. (I was given the wrong one though at first, grr)

push in an turn, or something like that, but the plastic under the steering wheel does need to come off

Ah yes, it's all coming back to me now.

Take a delve into the archives chap. Search for 'brake switch removal' or something.

aggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!! It's "brakelights!" LOL!LOL!

You can break brakelights, but not brake breaklights!! hahahahaaa!

I was in a rush writing the post!! Edited to correct spelling!!

Just got a mate to have a look and he took the dash apart and its all sorted!! Thanks guys!!

yup clarky.....switch is modified on facelifts and just needs strip and rebuild, 5 min job after the panels off

glad yo got it sorted
