TT 240 sport steering wheel in an s3

Hey all. Ive been trying to source an alcantara 3 spole steering wheel for ages when i was looking on piston heads at a 240sport tt. Im guessing the tt steering wheel is exactly the same fitment as the s3?? Which would be better, an rs4 alcantara wheel or the tt?? also where the hell do i get one from (with out saying audi as there robbing b*stards)

I found this on ebay. Ebay is the answer to all your finding needs!
However fitting one will give you an airbag light on all the time. Good luck!

scott best place for the 3 spoke rs4 alcantara wheel is from albert on ebay, I've bought 2 of him for when I had my S3 8L & when I had my B6 S4 avant, here's his ebay page & he speaks english, nice wheels & if not listed just ask him & he will sort for you mate but also check your internal bracket will fit to the wheel as I think they come bracketless:

If you still want the multi-fuctional controls why not fit a flat bottom multi-functional wheel like the one i'm retro-fitting. Its the same wheel used in the new TT, S3 and R8

cause the FBMFSW I doubt would install properly on the 8L as it uses a specific control module/slip ring & if its a pre-facelft 8L then you're screwed anyway as that wasnt canbus, there are of course canbus simulators, but its then getting into territory that might cost you alot for no fruitful results, of course I'm 1st one to try to mod anything but on this mod I would maybe advise some caution, but hey I always say anythings possible in life so please do feel free as its always good to try anything even if it doesnt work.

back to the alcantara 3 spoke, if its the facelift 8L then yes can use your airbag & loom, but on the original 8L you must change the airbag for facelift one & if you use your original loom you need to reverse the airbag loom 2 wires as I did cause for some strange reason they crossed the wires over on facelift, feck knows why but thats what I did on mine as mine was 99 S3, worked perfectly. If you're pre-facelift then airbags easily sourced & one good company is www.airbagsforsale.com, bought number of them & all been perfect & fair price, you can wait on ebay but if you're like me & impatient then I'd pay little extra from them.

Nah mate you can buy them with airbag for between 400-550 which is hell of alot cheaper than stealers, but its not just the FBMFSW you have to buy if putting on an 8P A3/S3/TT, you have to possibly change the slip ring & the control module, some cars have already the correct versions but most people who mod for this have to change both.

no sorry its gone with car, photos prob somewhere but no different than what you see on fleabay, no if yours is a facelfit you can reuse your airbag as I said matey so yours is simple really & I think you can use the backplate from your wheel in the new wheel ok, I'd buy one if I was you, its great cause its never hot in summer & never cold in winter, lol, lol, thats why I have alcantara seats rather than full leather, hate full leather, now if I could just get alcantara on my FBMFSW that would be cool.

Mines a facelift multi function wheel (4 spoke) so id have to buy a 3 spoke air bag and back plate + the wheel then where laughing!! lol. sounds expensive!! lol. Audi make a FBMFSW in alcantara coz they put them in the gallardo. Im guessing itll be the same fitment between the two?? Gallardo bein audi made?? That would look awesome!!

    Cheers for the advice Nige!!
