Hi

I've just put some 18" alloys on my 1999 1.8t and want to lower the car.

What suspension should i go for?

I've thought about just getting lowering springs, or maybe coil-overs?

What are the pros and cons of each system, and what makes and manufacturers can any members recommend???

Thanks a lot

IMO that is a lot to ask mate...do a search of this forum first!!! There is a bunch on here...

Have a search for Weitec GT kits there are some good discussions on them!

I'd go with the weitec ultra GT kit every time.

I've got the 50mm kit on my old A3, and it's great. The ride is still fairly comfy, and the drop is perfect, and all for £300!

I've heard that Koni FSD's don't like being lowered much below standard at all....

I went for a Weitec 30/30 drop and the back ended up slightly higher than the front. Granted I don't have any back seats in but if possible you should get some spacers to push the back wheels out which reduces the appearance of the larger gap between the tyre and arch.

Anyone know if I can get a set of just the rear 40mm lowering springs?
