boooring subject, but I could do with a small amount of help on removing a concert1 radio from an A3. I've bought the specific keys, with the little hook on the end. Am I ramming these into the 2 small slots at the bottom of the radio, situated to the left and right? or do they slide directly down the sides? If its the slots (im assuming) which way do they go in?? Putting the hooks facing in or facing out, I can't feel anything particularly 'clicking' into position exactly.

I'd be much appreciate someones advice on this. ta!

Fnny that I just purchased the radio removal tools this week (Autoleads from Halfords). Took a little bit of fiddling to get the radio out.
The hooks on the end of the tool point inwards, push the tools in straight and level then move the outside towards the stereo so they point inwards by about 20 deg. Give them a push to check they are fully inserted, then pivot them away from the stereo so they points outwards.
If the tools are inserted correctly you will feel the resistance of the springs when they are pivoted.
While holding the tools pivoted outwards, pull the tools to extract the stereo.
I have since heard that the Audi tools work better than Autoleads.
