    ESP. Audi S3

Having a bit of fun earlier, (private test track..) I was coming off my drive roundabout (with all systems on (IE, ESP)) and as I'm exiting the corner I'm full throttle but the car just boggs down and laggs. Is this the ESP slowing me down to stop me sliding?! *heh*

How many of you turn ESP for your general to do day driving?! I know it comes on as default when you start her up, but really, I've never thought twice about turning it off!

    Your thoughts?

Is that what the 'bogging down' is then? In a sense, it makes sense, so yeah..

I gave the same two roundabouts the same stick as I'd given on the previous lap (With ESP), only this time with it off. It seemed very twitchy and had the understeering issue straight away.. just had to be careful with feathering the throttle

yeah it feels like the car is digging into the road.lol.i found the best way depending on how big the roundabout is, if its fairly big with plenty of room and of course no other road users, i keep the car in second gear at bout 25-30 mph approach the roundabout as you get to the round about hit 30-35 when i get 1/4 way round boot it hard and twitch the steering wheel i get a smooth power delivery and no understeer, but if i gun it going into a bend or roundabout i get plenty of understeer.try it it may work.it tends to in my car

    That's right. It's in the user-manual..

The car starts and ESP is on, end of. Only when you turn it off will the light appear on the dashboard.

I do find the symbol quite ammusing though. An Exclamation mark with a arrow going round in circles around it. As in, "****! You're going to spin!!" :D

well I used to switch mine off all the time for the same reason as above but since Ive changed the suspension the light doesn`t seem to come on,

My mates R32 never had the ESP light come on and now mine does`t seem to.

billys with H&R`s and the car feels all new again so heres to another 4.5 years

May I ask what you have done to your suspension?

I remember someone telling me about the H&R's sometime before. Can you link me to any info regards these? (i know how to clean a car, not how to fix/work on it! ) Are they a worthy purchase? What do they do?

got bilstien B8`s and H&R springs ( -25mm) along with R32 ARB`s and ECS rear adjustable arms. The ride is very good just a little harder than standard but a lot less body roll. DPM did a group buy so he may be up for another if there is enough interest.
