TDI Remap ??

On behalf of a friend...
Evenin. I tried a search but can't really find what I'm after, so maybe someone can help.
A mate has got a 1.9tdi A3, It's the 110 engine I think. He's asked me if I could find out his options. He wants it faster but doesn't want to go silly with engine mods & big tweaks. He would like to keep the engine standard and was just thinking about a bit of a remap.
I suppose the questions are...Can you get these remapped? If so, by how much before the engine gets all unhappy about it? Best companies to use (prefferably North West) & what sort of cost would he looking at?
Maybe a remap is not his best option? are there more options?

I had my old PD 130 mapped at superchips HQ in bucks a couple of years back, I did a write up in the diesel forum afterwards:

I think the 110 unit is capable of a similar gain in both torque and BHP but i wasn't after outright speed from it, just better day to day dirvability if that makes sense?
