Dont waste your money bud, the free vag com will read codes anyway and a cheap cable is about 15 quid (19-20 euros?)

or just get the RAC or AA to read your codes for you for free.

anyways, if you havent a laptop i suppose that kinda screws it up a bit

Although i still think you'll find a similar product for maybe half the money, you could try ebay perhaps?
