Mods for V6

Hi,

Just joined so hello to all!

I got my A3 V6 approx 2 months ago and I have a couple of question:

- Has anyone with this kind of car had some modifications done?
- What does the ECU remap' really do to the car?

ive just put new wheels on mine..

the remap ive head adds about 30bhp... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

not much about for the 3.2 yet... but hopefully soon.

I very much doubt you'll get a 30bhp gain from a NA engine!

Check out AmD's Auni A3 Tuning page which states for £550, can give a 15bhp increase for the V6 engine.

yep, too expensive for the gain but the remap seems to offer more than just increased power. Some guys here talk about more grunt at low revs or that kind of things, is that true?

For the wheels, I am ashamed to say I don't know the excact type but they are BBS and 18 inches.
I tried to find them on the web but couldnt find anything looking like it
I actually got the car from a dealer (ex-demo car) who had the wheels and the body kit shipped from Germany but could not tell me anything more /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Oh I don't know...I've driven the stages (albeit in an R32) one after the other and each one is a good improvement over the the next.

You'll never get big bhp gains like you can with an FI engine.

OK first day on the forum and I will look like a d%**#ss but what does "FI" stands for

FI = Forced Incuction, ie turbo or supercharged.

NA = Normally Aspirated

and hopefully by the time someone does do that would be worth getting the new porsche duel clutch auto box (same as the DSG) as i feel that would be better suppost with the new snail..

and i rekon you could get it around 400 to 500bhp each with a nice size snail..

but thats serious money..

Just to get back to the subject;
has anyone had any mods on the V6?
and
Does ECU remapping only increase the bhp and nothing else (increase the allround performance or damage the life expectancy of other parts...)?

StephV6: I don't see any big difference there, the 3,2's torque curve isn't limited so no special gains there.

(isn't that 3,2's power enough?)
