just wondering where the best place would be to source an outer cv joint for a 2001 facelift s3. checked VAG parts and theres nowt on there but i suppose i could drop them an email to see if they can source one.

of the place ive tried ive been quoted all sorts of figures ranging from like £30 up to £90.

Has anyone had to change theyres and if so how much did you pay?

cheers guys!

audi , I had a mare with GSF and andrew pages and one from audi is only abou £110 with everything you need next day delivery. Think they might need your old one back afterwards can`t remember.

GSF got me one but was wrong .
Andrew page got me 2 both wrong so not worth the hassel tbh

thanks il get in touch with Swansea Audi then and we have a local private company that specialise in German,Swedish and French parts so il check there 2

Ehhhhh £100 quid for a CV joint?????????

If that's not including the driveshaft dont touch it with a bargepole.

Impossible to say without seeing it, although i've heard of alot of people just changing the joint on 8l's so i would imagine you will be ok.

Try GSF(German swedish French), as said above they can get the wrong parts occasionally but you'll get the best prices from them.

ive got one locally, they had to different parts there, one was £50 summin quid plus vat and the other £79 plus vat. they told me to bring the car down and theyl have a look for me. no doubt it will be the more expensive knowing my luck. thanks for reply

be very careful, GSF actually sold me one and it looked ok apart from it being 10mm smaller on the diameter. Think it was odd a quattro not a S3. They eventually found out there was another one but they did`t supply it ***.

For me it wasn`t worth having the car off the road while people tried to match the one id removed. A bit worrying when you say I want a S3 cv joint and they ask the engine size.
