1.8 se engine life?

Hi guys just a quick question my friend is looking to buy a 1.8 se with 122,000 miles on the clock but the car has been serviced regular, with recent cam belt and oil change. how long do these engines last for until they start to have problems or die??

How long is a peice of string... Depends, given the knowledge that Audi usually make good peices of string, and that that peice of string has been maintained I would say at least another 60-80K?

As a guide anything past 100k is going to start needing major things changed and maintained!

Are you refering to engines here or suspension and other such niceties?

Everything in general, even things you probably wouldnt think about, seat covers, trim quality, roof lining. I suppose those things arent important to everyone though.
